Modelling - low poly

Skill description
In this module we are modelling low poly 3D model.

Requirements
Pipelines and references

Outcome
Understanding the process of low poly modelling.

Contents
Modelling - Low Poly

UV unwrapping and texturing

Skill description
In this module we will UV unwrap and texture the asset

Requirements
Modelling

Outcome
Understanding of UV's and unwrapping and texturing

Contents
Unwrapping and texturing

Box modelling - Quad Based - Destructive

Skill description
In this module we will start to model a oil lantern. We are using quad based, destructive method. We use one image as a reference loosely. After unwrapping we will use one texture atlas for texturing the model.

Requirements
Low poly modelling, unwrapping and texturing.

Outcome
The students are able to start creating their own 3D models for games

Contents
Quad based - destructive

Texture maps and baking

Skill description
In this module we will talk about different textures you can use for your models. We also talk about baking normal maps in Blender

Requirements
Box modelling - Quad Base - Destructive

Outcome
The students will understand different texture in game models

Contents
Texturemaps and baking

Modelling - Non destructive method

Skill description
In this module we will practice how to create 3D models with non-destructive methods. After modelling, unwrapping and texturing the model we will also talk about how and why to triangulate your models.

Requirements
Texture maps and baking

Outcome
The students will understand what is Non-destructive modelling and the importance on triangulation.

Contents
Modelling - non destructive METHOD

Final challenges

Skill description
In this module you will have two final challenges to accomplish. The idea of this section is to put together all things you have learned during the lectures. Reserve some time for these and have fun with modelling!

Requirements
Previous lectures

Outcome
The students will understand how to utilize the methods and skills they learned in the course. They will also have a insight how to work as an 3D artist in a game industry.
